Reconciliation

Those who approach the sacrament of Penance obtain pardon from God’s mercy for the offense committed against him, and are, at the same time, reconciled with the Church which they have wounded by their sins and which by charity, by example, and by prayer labors for their conversion.” –Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1422

Before students receive their First Communion in 2nd grade they receive their First Reconciliation.  Therefore if you or your student

have not received reconciliation then you/they probably have not receive First Communion.  To find out how to receive First Communion follow the link.

Since Reconciliation is not a “one and done” sacrament the church does not record the date of the First Reconciliation.  The church cannot legally say if a person has gone to reconciliation because that would be breaking the seal.

At Holy Angels you can receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturday mornings at 7:30am or after the 4pm mass.  You can also make an appointment with a priest.  Never feel that you shouldn’t go to confession because you don’t know what to do.  The priest is always happy to walk you through the process.  It happens quite often!
