Faith Formation

Faith Formation at Holy Angels encompasses a variety of programs and activities for all ages; from preschool through adult.

Liturgy of the Word for Children

Liturgy of the Word for Children is for children ages 4-7. The program takes place during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass on select weekends from September to April. The children are dismissed from Mass after the opening prayer and return during the offertory. During this time the children learn from the scripture in an age-appropriate learning environment. The program is open so no registration is needed to attend on Sunday mornings.

Religious Education

The Religious Education program is for school age children grades 1-8 from our parish who do not attend the day school.

Reconciliation and First Communion

The sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion are completed at the parish level with students typically receiving these sacraments in 2nd grade. The process for 2nd grade students begins in October and they receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Lent and First Communion in May. There is also an at-home program for students who are older than 2nd grade who have not yet received First Communion.

Discipleship classes are offered for young adults in grades 9-10 in our parish. Their meetings are intended to bring the youth to their faith and educate them about their faith.

High school juniors also are offered the opportunity to participate in Confirmation classes that are administered by the Religious Education Office. These classes prepare juniors for Confirmation.

Youth Ministry

Youth Ministry at Holy Angels Parish is dedicated to serving the parish’s high school youth to help bring them to their faith through educational, leadership and service opportunities.

Journey is a religious development program of the Quad-Parishes (St. Mary, Holy Trinity, St Frances Cabrini and Holy Angels) of West Bend/Newburg, Wisconsin, designed to meet the spiritual and sacramental needs of children, teens, and adults with developmental disabilities.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is for adults wishing to be baptized or baptized Christians interested in becoming Catholic. Classes meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00.  Two sessions are run throughout the year, one starting in July and one starting in December. Participants can receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil as they are ready to do so. Registration is required which can be done by contacting Deacon Mark Jansen at (262) 334-0140.

Confirmation for Adults

Confirmation for Adults classes are for adults 19 and older who have never received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Adult Formation

Adult Formation programs and activities are offered throughout the year to provide opportunities for spiritual enrichment for adults in our parish.

Teaching Ministries

The Faith Formation programs are always looking for reliable, knowledgeable, and dedicated adults to teach and share their faith with others.

If you are interested in teaching Religious Education, Discipleship or Confirmation classes, please contact Joseph Heit, Director of Religious Education and Youth Ministry at (262) 334-9393.
